Alrighty......So it has been a while since I have posted anything. I have either been too tired, too busy, or too lazy to update my blog, but I have a free moment so I thought I would do it now.
We made it to Middlesboro on the 28th of May. Stewart unpacked the whole truck all by himself because I couldn't lift anything. We were supposed to have some people from our new ward to help us move the heavy stuff into our house, but no one showed up. Thank goodness for our landlord's husband......He helped move in the heavy pieces and we didn't even have to ask him. Oh...and our landlord's are great. They had the inside of the house repainted, the drapes cleaned, the carpets cleaned, and even had some food stocked in the fridge. We were really grateful for that.
We had to return the moving truck to Knoxville a couple days later and did a little sight-seeing while we were there. We walked around a lot hoping that it would speed up things with Ryan, but it didn't do a thing. We went to this great Farmer's Market that they have on Wednesdays and Saturdays, got some barbeque at this place called Buddy's Bar-B-Q. It was okay bbq......It was too "fast food" style and we didn't really want that.
A few days after arriving here it was my birthday. I was really sad that day because I wasn't able to spend it with my friends and family. But I was happy that I was able to spend the whole time with the most important people in my life...Stewart and Ethan. We had crepes with bananas and syrup for breakfast that I made, but that was just because I was really hungry. I don't remember what we did for lunch, but for dinner we went and had some yummy barbeque at Heavy's BBQ in Harrogate. We drove through town a little after dinner and then we came home and Stewart made me a yummy cake. I got a gorgeous glider and ottoman for my birthday...something I have been wanting ever since Ethan was a baby. Thanks honey for the great birthday!!!!
A week later I scheduled a routine check-up to see if I was dilating. I was only a 2 so I was a little bummed out about that. The doctor asked us when we wanted to deliver and jokingly we told him last week. He then asked if we wanted to have the baby that night or then next morning. We said of course and then he induced me, gave me the forms I needed and told us where to go to be admitted. We got into a room around 2:30pm on June 10th. I was having contractions every couple minutes, but I was not dilating at all. The gave me the epidural at 8:30pm so I would have to feel the contractions anymore......It wore off by midnight so they gave me a little more......Still nothing! Finally at 5:00am they checked and I was at a 5 so they gave me Pitocin. I went from a 5 to an 8 in about a half hour and I could feel my contractions coming every minute or less. They wheeled me into the delivery room around 6:00am. I was so hot and felt like I was going to past out and throw up. So they gave me some oxygen and a trash can to throw up in. Every time I threw up it pushed Ryan out.......I think I did that 5 times. The doctor came in and told me to push really hard and out she came......6 pushes!!! Ryan was born at 6:26am weighing 6lbs 15oz and measuring at 19in long. Her temperature was a little low and so was her heart rate so they had to put her in an incubator for almost 3 hours! It was the longest 3 hours Stewart and I have ever experienced. Once she was where she needed to be they brought her in and Stewart finally got to hold her. I have only seen him that excited a few times since we have been together.
We have been home from the hospital since the 12th. Ethan loves his little sister so much. He has been getting into some trouble and acting up just so we will give him attention. So we have been trying to spend one-on-one time with him. He is going to be a great big brother.
Well......I think this is all I am going to post tonight. I gotta go to bed before my baby girl wakes up......More to come later!
