Yesterday was a holiday here in Canada...... Victoria Day. Not many places were open yesterday, including Costco and TD Canada Trust... so that meant that Stew and Cindy had the day off. Sunday night we were trying to figure out what we wanted to do and we all went to bed still not knowing what we were going to do. The weather was supposed to be rainy and a lot of the attractions (Science Center, etc) were REALLY expensive. Yesterday morning, we looked at the weather and it showed a high of 16*C and partly cloudy. We decided it would be fun to go to Bowness Park and have a picnic and take a hike. We had a bit of a rough start, but once we got there we were enjoying ourselves. Ethan played on the playground almost the whole time we were there, Ryan sat in the baby swings and was so happy...... We had some yummy food (hot dogs, chips, rice salad, watermelon, pop) and then we packed up our stuff so we could feed the ducks and walk along the river. By the time we got back to the car, Ethan was a little whiny because his knees and feet hurt from walking. We drove over to a bike shop, but it was closed. Before we went home we went to the Lazy Loaf... and had some AMAZING dessert. Ethan had a giant ginger cookie, Cindy and a huge piece of Carrot Cake, Stew had a pastry with custard and fruit on top, and I had a super yummy piece of chocolate cake. When we got home, Ethan had to clean his room and then Stew took him outside so Ethan could ride his bike. He still has problems with peddling... so Stew duck-taped his shoes to the peddles. I told Ethan that he had to "step on a bug" with which ever foot was up. He was riding his bike pretty well after that.
I will post some pictures after I get some stuff done today.
