So sorry for not posting…… I have been a bit of a slacker when it comes to blogging. So now it is time to play catch up…
November
Alright…… Here is what happened in November. November 1st I started the P90X program (again for the 3rd or 4th time) and unfortunately din’t make it to the end…again. I really need to buckle down and get this started and finished so maybe I will start loving myself again. I completed a month of P90X before I wussed out…… Not again! I may break my trend of starting it on the 1st Monday of the month and start it this upcoming Monday. According to my Facebook statuses all I really talked about was working out and wanting it to be Thanksgiving so the kids and I could spend a whole day with Stew. Thanksgiving was lots of fun. We woke up, watched the Macy’s parade, and looked through the Black Friday ads. We had Turkey, Cranberry Pecan Stuffing, Sour Cream and Chive Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Homemade Rolls, Caramel Pecan Pumpkin Pie, and Banana Cream Pie for dinner. After dinner we made some Applesauce and Cinnamon ornaments and then just hung out and watched a movie while the kids were sleeping. The next day we went and did some Black Friday sales…and yes we did bring the kids with us. They were up while we were getting ready (side note– we left the house around 6:15am… Ethan and Ryan had been getting up around 5am the whole month because of Daylight Savings changing). We picked up a few things that were SUPER cheap for Christmas. The kids and I started decorating for Christmas, but were waiting for us to get our tree to totally complete the decorations. We were wanting to get a real one around the weekend that Stew was finally done with finals.
December
Finals were almost over and I was going to be a married mom again……LOL. I felt like a single mom of two almost the whole semester. In this month I cleaned quite a bit, made/finished some Christmas decorations, and just enjoyed spending time with my wonderful little family. The kids and I played out in the snow quite a bit and made sure that we had some yummy hot chocolate to warm up to. Always after playing outside and after the hot chocolate, the kids and I would snuggle under blankets and watch one of our many Christmas movies. Christmas Eve we played a game as a family, had yummy food (we have appetizers every year for Christmas Eve…One tradition we have done since Stew and I were dating!), watched A Christmas Carol, read the Christmas story, had some hot chocolate and ate some cookies, unwrapped our Christmas pjs. Stew and I watched Inception after the kids went to bed and then helped Santa! Christmas Day dinner we had Ham, Candied Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Southern Green Beans, and Wheat Rolls. For dessert we had Caramel-Pecan Pumpkin Pie, which actually didn’t turn out so great. We each had one piece and then didn’t have anymore of it. I was very disappointed. My mother-in-law had made it Thanksgiving of 2009 and it was SO good!! For Christmas I got the last 4 books of the Harry Potter series, a family photo of my sister and her husband, Reebok Zigs, a couple sweaters, some pjs, earphones, and a couple other things that I can’t remember! LOL. I wrote it down somewhere, but can’t find it!! One of the last days of Stew’s break we went to the Cleveland Museum of Art………. B-E-A-UTIFUL (said the way that Bruce does on Bruce Almighty)… It was great to be able to do something that Stew and I have been wanting to do since we moved here. Oh and the kids were REALLY good the whole time! New Year’s Eve we had finger foods again for dinner, watched a movie with the kids, put them to bed, and then counted down the New Year together. I can’t believe that it is 2011! So many great things are going to happen this year!
January
Stew has been in school for a whole month after having almost a whole month off. He is taking 27 credit hours this semester, which equals out to not ever seeing him. He is taking Neurobiology, Microbiology/Immunology, Lower Extremity Anatomy, Physical Assessment, and Human Systems Biology. Shew… I can’t imagine taking all those classes. The last couple weeks we haven’t seen Stew very much. Test week is in February and so he is down at the school or library for as long as he can stay. It has been really cold…even colder than when we were in Calgary. We were hit with an ice storm…… so not fun! Nothing really exciting happened in January……
February
So far this month we have been stuck at home. Stew has needed to have the car so he could study for as long as he wants. It would have been nice to have the other guy that trades carpooling days with to drive today since he didn’t drive on the day that he was supposed to. Stew came home early Monday night and I had to hurry to the store and get a few things that we needed since I wasn’t going to be able to have the car on the day that was mine. I went and got lots of different fruit and veggies from Sam’s Club and the next day I was going to cut up some Mango……They were BAD…ROTTEN…NASTY! So mad. I am taking them back tomorrow and getting some new ones!
